The next round of campaign finance reports in the California governor's race won't come out for a couple of weeks, but if it hasn't already happened, any day now Republican Meg Whitman will reach an unprecedented milestone: investing $100 million in her own campaign.

The election is still almost four months away, but Whitman has already shattered all California campaign spending records.
